Authentic 1960's Pawn Shop Guitar Tone! Inspired by the famous Ry Cooder Gold Foil pickup...

This is a special magnetic pickup designed for mounting into the sound hole of an acoustic guitar. It is made in the style of the classic Teisco(tm)-brand Del Rey(R) "Gold Foil" pickups, and for such a simple (and inexpensive) pickup it really puts out great sound. 

The size of the pickup itself (minus the mounting ears) is 2 3/4" x 1 1/8". With the mounting ears, the total width is 5". The thickness is just a hair over 1/4", so with a little bit of modding (remove the ears), this can be used as a surface-mount pickup on a cigar box guitar. The pickup comes with a standard eight-foot 1/4" amp cord attached so you can mount this in your guitar and plug it right into an amp. If you are looking to mod it, you can easily cut off that amp cord, bare the wires inside and wire it direct to an output jack instead.

The "guts" of the pickup is a rail-style single coil, with an impedance of about 5.48kOhms.
