Ben "Gitty" Baker's Personal Resonator Octave Mandolin

Ben "Gitty" built this 4-string resonator octave mandolin for himself in 2017, and played it on-stage and at sessions for some time. It has a biscuit bridge with built-in rod piezo pickup, and a 4-band EQ pre-amp as well, which allows the tone to be sculpted when amplified. The body of the instrument is formed from two Arturo Fuente "King B" cigar boxes, to give enough depth for the dog bowl resonator... and for a very distinctive look.

With bright gold hardware and an exotic wenge fretboard, this is a premium instrument suitable for playing or display in a collection. 19.75-inch scale, GDAE tuning, 17 frets. If desired, the action could be lowered by filing down the bridge feet.
