Description
These poplar tenor uke necks are hand-made in the C. B. Gitty workshops in the state of New Hampshire, USA, and we work hard to make sure they are a high-quality product! These are scaled specifically for use on tenor ukuleles and similarly scaled instruments, and are part of a series of pre-fretted "kit" necks we have created to help builders.
These necks are approximately 28 1/4 long, 1 1/2" wide and 3/4" thick (1" total thickness where the fretboard is glued on). They come with four pre-drilled holes in the headstock for our Economy tuners (2 left/2 Right) as well as pre-marked holes for screws. The holes for the tuners can easily be drilled out and the holes for the installations screws filled in with wood filler to accommodate other styles of tuners. The length of neck past the fretboard was designed for use in boxes/instrument bodies up to about 10 inches in length.
This neck features a glued-on poplar fretboard with zero fret with a wooden string retainer and is fully fretted with 16 frets to a 17" scale with high-quality medium/medium nickel-silver fret wire that has been end-dressed and should be ready for use, though of course you can always smooth things down even more if you prefer. Screws that we use for installation of the fretboard also double as fret position markers.
Please note that the exact appearance of each neck will vary depending on individual grain patterns. Some pieces may have a slight greenish hue, due to the nature of the hardwood (poplar) used.
Please note: This listing is for the neck only. No other hardware included. The image of the completed Pure and Simple is for demonstration purposes only.
