Description
These endpin/strap button stereo guitar jacks are great for use on standard acoustic guitars as well as cigar box guitars and other instruments. This jack is mounted with 3 matching screws (included), with no nuts to tighten. This allows them to be easily used on finished guitars where it would be hard to get a nut screwed on.
An endpin strap button jack serves a dual purpose: not only is it a standard 1/4" stereo guitar output jack, but it also is a handy place to attach your guitar strap. The standard place to mount these is the very base of the guitar (where a regular strap button can usually be found).
Installation of these as a mono jack will require the ground wire to be soldered onto the extended prong, and the positive to be wired the smallest of the two terminals on the underside of the jack.
Please see the photos for sizing reference on this item.

This is my third guitar I have made, each one gets better. This guitar has a Roadhouse Cigar theme, the back has a poster of one of the Roadhouse Cigar Box Festival. All the decorative parts are from CB Gitty.

I found out about C. B. Gitty when I built my son's cigar box guitar. On this project I decided to use some of their products for an electric violin. I used their control and tone pots, capacitor, gold flush mount output jack and their gold flat top knurled control knobs. This violin was built using many of the techniques that I learned when researching info for my son's cigar box guitar which also used their parts. for example I wound my own pickups. This violin uses magnetic pickups which is different from most electric violins in that most use piezo pickups. I also used cigar box guitar style grounding for the strings. The violin plays ok, but I am going to do some experimenting with the pickups to tweak them a little for better volume at a lower setting. Remember the techniques and products that you use in your cigar box guitars can be used in most string instruments. Use your imagination and the sky's the limit.
