Description
This set of specially designed parts will help you make the best use of your C. B. Gitty Hubcap Reso Cone (or regular paint can lid) on your special instrument build. Ben "Gitty" Baker designed these mounting ring systems to make it as easy as possible to use his "Hubcap" spun paint can lid reso cones - no longer do you have to worry about cutting exactly round holes, or having gaps when using cover plates. This listing is for the two rings (mounting and spacer) and hold-down tabs shown in the photos - the Hubcap cone is shown for reference only.
These parts are cut from 1.5mm thick (roughly 1/16 inch) aircraft-grade birch plywood. While flexible, they should be handled with care and not bent, or they may break. The parts may have some staining marks left over from the laser-cutting process, which can be sanded off of any exposed surface. The cut edges will also have some light charring which may rub off on hands/other parts - this can easily be removed via a light sanding. We leave the wood bare/unfinished so that you can apply stains, varnishes, paint or other finishes/designs as desird.
Here are some suggestions of what you'll want to go along with this mounting system:
Add a Hubcap Cone - if you don't already have a Hubcap Reso Cone, choose either the half-gallon (5-inch) or gallon (6.25-inch) size
Or, add a paint can lid - if you want to use a regular paint can lid instead of one of our spun Hubcap cones, pick the size you want here.
Add a Cover Plate - dress up your reso build even more with one of our original cover plates! Check out this listing for all of the options.
