Description

Well folks, if you've been looking at the absolute cheapest way to avoid soldering up your own pickup wiring circuits, here you go. These are the absolute rock-bottom economy-priced wiring harnesses you'll ever hope to find. They are made overseas (of course, at these prices, what would you expect?), and there are four varieties available - be sure to review the recommendations below for which one to choose. See the appropriate photo(s) for wiring advice.

  • EconoHarness 250includes slim profile 250KOhm volume and tone pots (.047uF capacitor on the tone), a standard output jack, and leads. 250K pots are often used with single-coil pickups, but there are no hard-and-fast rules. The lead with the two wires connects to your pickup (designed for magnetic pickups, the bare wire is ground and the white insulated wire is positive), and the single wire is for attaching to any shielding or for grounding the circuit to the strings via a metal bridge or tailpiece. Washers and nuts for mounting are included.
  • EconoHarness 500: Same as above, but with 500KOhm pots, more often used with humbucker pickups.
  • Fat-bottom 500: Similar to above, but using full-size pots with a wider body and shorter threaded shaft. Wiring same as above.
  • EconoHarness 500-3WAY: designed for switching between two separate pickups. It includes a standard 3-way switch, slim-profile 500KOhm volume and tone pots (.047uF capacitor on the tone), a standard output jack, and leads.
