Description
These are 1/4" standard mono phone output jacks. They have a shorter shaft than the Neutriks we sell, but they are a good bit cheaper and are great for CBGs, amps and other homemade instruments. The shafts on these jacks are about 0.30 inch and can accept a panel thickness up to about 0.16 inch. They come with two nuts and a washer, perfect for mounting on one of our jack plates! These are sturdy, well-made jacks that will serve well for most any standard audio/instrument usage.
Choose either Nickel or Gold-plated finishes, and from three different pack sizes.
When wiring, note that the smaller lug is the ground and the larger lug with the notches is the positive.

This is build #12 of my CBG journey. This is a Brickhouse box with a poplar neck and angled (scarf joint) headstock. I did not add a fretboard to this one as I wanted to try something different. 23" scale length using Jescar nickel silver Jumbo wire as a nut and 23 frets using Jescar nickel silver medium/medium wire. I used a 1/4" oak dowel as the fret dot inlays but I think I need to use a smaller diameter material to make it look a little proportionate. I used a set of the black open gear economy tuners that I bought from CB Gitty a year or so ago. They work really well and look great. I used a piece of 3/8" square dowel for the bridge with a piece of Jescar nickel silver Jumbo wire. The tailpiece is a silver door striker plate. I did add a 1/4" back angle to this one to give it decent height at the bridge but also lower action in the lower half of the fretboard. I added a CB Gitty piezo disc at the 23" scale mark which runs straight to the mono output. Overall it sounds and plays really great. It feels and plays really solid and will make a great little 3-stringer for someone to either learn on or have a jam session with!

I've played guitar for years, but decided I wanted to build my own instrument. This was my first attempt at a CBG. Loved the process and there is nothing better than playing music from an instrument you built with your own two hands.

Build #20, a double-neck! The headstocks are my own design. Used an oversized Arturo Feuente box that I stripped down and painted using a water drop technique. The box is only 1 inch deep, so I reinforced the necks on the sides under the lid where I notched them for the pickups. The necks and markers are made of mahogany, with poplar fretboards, heels and headstock extensions. The top one is tuned to E, the bottom one to G. 25-inch scales and 24 frets, with all Chrome hardware, hex bolts for bridges, zero frets for nuts and ghosted humbuckers under the lid. Got a 3-way switch for the pickups and a single volume knob EVH style. I think it came out pretty sweet!

Fully-fretted Diatonic One-String Canjo Neck - Just add your own can and hardware!, Standard 1/4-inch Mono Guitar Jacks - Choose Finish & Pack Size, Parlor-style Chrome Open-gear Tuners - Dual-hole Shafts - Choose Alignment, 20mm Piezo Disks (no leads) - Choose Pack Size
threw this baby together in a bout an hour over the weekend. It started as one of the pre-fretted canjo necks from CB Gitty and a couple parlor guitar tuners. We did some painting recently, so I had this can of Goof Off. I thought it would make a good canjo. In order to electrify it, I added a piezo on the back and ran the wires down through the neck. I used an L-bracket from Ikea to mount the jack. If you’ve tried to play a canjo, you know they have a tendency to rock a bit due to the skinny neck being against your body. I fixed this by adding wings to the body section. It also helps protect the jack. To give it a little flare, I added a clover charm from a girl’s necklace as a headstock decoration. I used to .013 guitar strings tuned in unison and it actually sounds pretty darn good. Overall, I’m pretty pleased with the build.

The Hobo Fiddle DIY Kit by "Boxcar" Ben Gitty, "Tin Pan Alley" 3-String Paint Can Resonator Guitar Kit, The Mountain Tenor Acoustic DIY Box Guitar Kit - Choose 3 or 4-string, "DeltaBucker" 4-string Rosewood Cigar Box Guitar Humbucker Pickup pre-wired with Jack - No Soldering!, 3-pack 20mm Piezos with Leads, Standard 1/4-inch Mono Guitar Jacks - Choose Finish & Pack Size
I have completed 3 C. B. Gitty kits to date. They are the Mountain Tenor, the Hobo Fiddle, and the Tin Pan Alley. As I set the 3 of them up for a family picture, I realized all 3 were acoustic kits that I converted to electric. I also added a headstock decoration on all 3. I really like all of them. They're completely different but each is great in their own way.

3 string, GDg "Travel CBG" I needed a way to pack a cbg into checked luggage to have it at a family reunion (of which there would be 2 or 3 other of my builds I'd given to other members of my family) where we jam often and at length! I made the neck a bolt on to do so. Works great! In addition to the 3 main screws there is another smaller screw through the box to secure the brace to the box. Flatpup-style pickup with a brass custom made cover, salvaged stratocaster volume and tone knobs, floating bridge, strings grounded at the tailpiece.

I decided to make a bass from a pizza paddle. I got the paddle at a restaurant store and I noticed it wasn't very string. I used a couple pieces of wood to enforce the body and neck, then I oiled a piece of walnut to use as the fingerboard. I added some electronics, independent bridges, a couple tuners, and a Corian nut. Before I knew it, I had this... the pizza paddle bass.
