The "Red Dot" Stick-on Pickup Button for Cigar Box Guitars & More

This simple piezo pickup harness is an inexpensive way to add a pickup to an acoustic guitar or other instrument with no need for tools or permanent alteration. We have branded this as the "Red Dot" due to its shape and color, and also in memory of the famous old Red Dot brand of cigars from central Pennsylvania.

The piezo pickup is encased in a low-profile plastic mounting button, which is adhered to the instrument body via an attached adhesive pad. The output jack has a Velcro(tm)-style backing can be affixed to an instrument using a matching piece (not provided), or using the provided clip

In short, this gives you a quick and easy method for amplifying a wide range of acoustic instruments, from guitars to cigar box guitars to ukuleles, box drums and more. As with any piezo-style pickup, it may take some experimentation to determine where to put it on your instrument to get the best sound. On standard acoustic guitars, the general recommendation is to put it fairly near the bass side of the bridge/saddle.
